Yard Project

I cannot take any credit for this project. Ted single handedly built a retaining wall, put down sod, moved 8,000 lbs. of dirt and 3 cubic yards of mulch, and cut down our overgrown bushes. This turned into an ongoing four week project, but it was worth the wait!

View from the front. We planted knockout rosebushes that line the house on both sides and in front of the rose bushes are boxwoods. The left side of the front door has hastas and our solar power lighting that line the sidewalk and the right side has a pergola that is being engulfed by a climbing rose bush. Under the pergola are a bunch of irises. And to finish it up, we have two pots of flowers, a flag and a sign with our house address.

Here is a better view of the wall. It has 250 stones!
The entire wall had to be filled in with dirt. I forgot, we also planted a small tree.

Here is my contribution. I did all of the potted flowers. While this may seem insignificant, it did take two hours. There are a few pots not shown.

In addition to this project, we also had an equally long fence install. Our fence fell during one of the storms and the rotted posts were not salvageable. I will post pictures of that sometime soon. The new fence looks great but we are still waiting for it to be stained. We also added a gate between us and our back door neighbors for easy access. We had them over for dinner so the gate has already been put to good use!
