Open Kennel Policy

Ted in all his geniusness decided that it was okay for the dogs to sleep in our bed. With a baby on the way, this is really the worst timing ever. I don't care for dogs in our bed mostly because they make it more uncomfortable for me, so I just ease them over to Ted's side and then it is all good.

Well the other night, Riley needed to use the facilities and neither of us heard her trying to get out of our room, so we woke up to a surprise by the door. This problem infuriates Ted and me to no end because she is 4 and should be able to hold it, however, it is our fault and we need to fix it. You would think the solution would be to keep them in their kennels at night, but nope, we decided to add another set of bells to our bedroom door (they are already bell trained at the back door).

New bells for the backdoor.

Newly added bedroom bells.

One dog always takes advantage of the open kennel policy (see above) and the other dog is not consistent (see below). Her favorite spot is under the bed.

The bells are a great idea! Not sure Jake would ever catch onto that though...hmmmm
