Restaurant Recap

We more than exceeded our goal of one new restaurant and we didn't spend a dime.  Here is where we stand...
  • Seventy Seven South (Leawood) - we had brunch.  I'm slowing starting to hate brunch buffets because I feel the need to overload my plate to get my (or my parents in this case) money's worth.  This buffet offered more daytime food than breakfast food, but I thought it was tasty!  The food was good, but nothing extraordinary, so I probably wouldn't go back, but am glad I tried it.
  • Danny Edwards BBQ (KC, off of SW Blvd) - we at lunch.  The BBQ was yummy and the service was excellent.  This place did not disappoint and I would make to KC again for this food.  (Thanks for lunch Grandma!)
Ted got the pleasure of accompanying me to Columbia, MO for work.  My parents watched G so I thought of this time as a free vacation.  Mental note - Columbia, MO is not a vacation spot!
  • 9th Street Deli (Columbia, MO) - this was in their bar district, like Aggieville.  It was just a sandwich, but it was a good sandwich.  The service was terrible, so I would not recommend this joint.
  • Agave (Columbia, MO) - this was in the burbs.  It was supposed to be the best Mexican in Columbia.  We got chicken chimis.  They were good, service was excellent.
  • Shakespeare's Pizza (Columbia, MO) - apparently a must in Columbia.  This place was packed from the minute it opened.  The pizza was just ok pizza to me, but they cheesy garlic bread was amazing!
  • Hot Box Cookies (Columbia, MO) - this is a dessert place.  This saved our Columbia trip by giving us something to look forward to everyday!  This place served fresh baked cookies (ours had been baked within the hour) and if you wanted to wait 15 minutes, you could pick your cookies (6 cookie minimum) and they would bake them while you waited.  This place is genius!
I'm looking forward to what food February will bring!
