I was away in NYC the weekend this wonderful storm hit. Ted told me that we had hail so loud he couldn't hear G on the baby monitor. He then told me he laid upstairs in her room until the hail stopped so he would be there in case she woke up and got scared. While the story was sweet, I really thought he was being a tad dramatic. Ted didn't mention any damage to our house and he is a stickler about keeping our house in pristine condition so I was surprised that I was the first to notice pieces of our shutters were missing.
And parts of our window ledge had holes.
And then Ted realized, that our roof was damaged too.
Luckily our insurance adjuster agreed with our damage assessment and will be providing us with a new roof! Whoop, whoop! As all home owners know, homes need tons of upkeep. We knew we'd have to get a new roof soon and in all honestly this was the one household cost we financially felt unprepared for. Everything always seems to work out and we feel so lucky that this worked out for free!
On a completely random note. Ted and I were inspired by Blanc Burger to add egg to our hamburgers. This was an amazingly delicious decision! Burgers will never be the same in the Green household.
