Life Happens

It has been a wild few weeks for us.  I'll try to be as chronological as possible.

Wednesday, April 27th, we bought a minivan.  No, I'm not pregnant, I just wanted the convenience and space.  We like to think of it as long term family planning because we will have it for when we do have another kid.  It is nice to not bonk G's head every time I put her into the car seat.  This same day, we got our new roof, which is awesome, but the 2 day process was super annoying!

Next, I "worked" from home Thursday and Friday (April 28th and 29th) because Ted got his deviated septum fixed.  I woke up Thursday morning with a full body rash.  Turns out I'm allergic to penicillin.  But we still had to get Ted to the hospital.

He survived with minor complaining and lets just say Ted is a terrible patient.  I've never seen someone have surgery and not slow down!

Then, Friday (April 29th), we made a lunch Costco run to get out of the house for a bit.  G was at daycare so it was just me and Ted.  Ted was drugged up and not allowed to drive, so I was his chauffeur for the weekend.  Our daycare provider's house is on the way to Costco and her backyard backs up to Nall so when we drive by her house, I always peek over.  As we drove by her house on our way home, I saw her outside!  I instantly said to Ted "I think Rose is mowing her lawn".  Ted in all his drugged up glory was like "I need to go home", so I took Ted home and decided I was going to go and pick up Grace.  In my heart, I thought Rose is outside, so surely someone is inside with Grace.  This was not the case.  No one answered the door when I arrived and when I went to the back door, Rose came from around the back of her house to let me in.  Grace was sleeping and everything was fine, but I was extremely uncomfortable with the situation.  My theory is that she pushed the lawn mower around the front side, saw my car, and came running around to the back.  She denied mowing the lawn and it really doesn't matter what happened.  What I do know is that Grace was unattended in her house and Rose did not have a monitor to listen for Grace.  Grace did not go back to Rose the following Monday (May 2nd) and thankfully between Ted, me and my parents, we were able to stay home that week with Grace while I searched for a new daycare.  We started at Susan's yesterday and I'm thrilled with her!  Grace now has a 1 year old little girl to play with and Susan is wonderful!

Tuesday, May 5th, G and I started aquatots!

It was not a feel good to dunk your 7 month old, but she only choked on the water a few times.
For the life of me I couldn't get this picture to upload vertically so just tilt you head on this one.
Then is was my first Mother's Day.

She has her first tooth!  We tried to get a picture of it, but were unsuccessful.  It started coming through last week so we should probably mark the date of her first tooth as May 4th.
