Week 35 and Baby Basics

Last night was the worst night of sleep to date and when I don't sleep, Ted doesn't sleep. We are both quite pleasant today despite this, however, we completely forgot to take the week 35 picture. Week 35 is here which means there are 35 days to go. We have a doctor's appointment today and every week from here on out until the baby comes.

We attended baby basics class last night. It made for a long night (and probably a bad night of sleep) but I thought it was really good stuff to hear for the first time parent. We got to practice swaddling and changing diapers. Ted has never changed a diaper and didn't know that diapers were no longer made with that terrible tape to secure the diaper so the velcro secures really impressed Ted. We watched two videos, one was about labor and delivery (we didn't see a live birth) and the other about how the first three months is really like the 4th trimester (I know, not a trimester anymore when you hit four, but this was from the video) and how babies still need to be treated like fetuses. This really just meant swaddle them tight, swing and shhhh them. We got a quick bath and bulb syringe tutorial and three hours later class was over. All in all, it was a productive Wednesday night.

I called it a nose picker before I learned the proper terminology! It is for sucking mucus out of the mouth and nose. I know you've seen one but I'll show you Gracie's when you come visit :)
