There is a model and talent agency on the same floor as my office. I've always wanted to get "discovered" by them and really thought when I was pregnant that I would be as good as in, you know, because pregnant models are hard to find. Well, needless to say, I wasn't "discovered" during my pregnancy, but that baby growing inside of me sure was!
On Friday of last week the agency asked how old my baby was because they were looking for babies 12 to 24 months and walking for a Hallmark ad. I informed her that Grace is 11 mths and not walking, so I was immediately discouraged. She asked if I had a current photo, which I did not (mother of the year award right here), but said I'd bring one in Monday. Monday morning I drop off this picture (which literally took me all weekend to perfect)
and Monday afternoon I get the note saying the Hallmark rep will see her Tuesday at 2:50pm. I took a half day yesterday to take Grace to her go-see (that is what they called it on Big Rich Texas....I really need to cut back on TV). Unfortunately I don't have pictures from inside the go-see, but here is us in the hallway.
Grace killed it! She napped on the way there so was ready for action when we arrived. She was cute, personable and most importantly full of smiles! She isn't even smiling above and you can see those pinchable cheeks are irresistible. I wish they'd send me the pictures they took, but I guess Hallmark has more pressing matters than making sure parents of baby models have the go-see pictures. If G is picked, they'd do the shoot next Wednesday so if we don't hear from the agency by the end of the week then we'll know she didn't get it.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Update: Friday, 8/26/11, at 2:19pm, I got a call our princess did not get the job. In Ted's words, "their loss".
